Liquid Nitrogen Storage Systems

What is liquid nitrogen?

Liquid nitrogen is nitrogen in in a liquid stage with a very low temperature. It is industrially through fractional distillation of liquid air. Often called by its abbreviation LIN, it has 1977 as UN number. Liquid nitrogen is a diatomic liquid i.e. the diatomic character of covalent N2 bonding which can be retained following liquefaction.

What is liquid nitrogen used for?

Liquid Nitrogen Storage System

Liquid nitrogen is used in a variety of applications range such as animal husbandry, medicine, clinics & hospitals, vaccine and medicinal research, blood and tissue banks. However, keeping the hazards which it can cause, liquid mercury needs to be stored with care. The storage measures tend to differ according to the lowest expected oxygen level. For instance, if oxygen level is less than 19.5% then basic requirements for nitrogen storage in industrial settings include signage, availability of written processes for emergencies, training for all users and availability of water for burns.

What is the temperature of liquid nitrogen?

Liquid Nitrogen Storage System

Liquid nitrogen has an unusually low boiling pint of -196 degrees Celsius, or -321 degrees Fahrenheit. It boils within a short time span at room temperature and a boiling action which displays oxygen for swimmers. A liquid nitrogen storage tank is highly efficient in storing low pressure, liquid applications. A number of models come with rugged, oversized casters. The liquid nitrogen storage tank price however tends to vary.

What is nitrogen used for?

Nitrogen is widely used in the chemical industry to produce different types of fertilisers, nitric acid, nylon, explosives and dyes. In order to create these products, nitrogen needs to undergo reaction with hydrogen to create ammonia. This is done by following the Haber process. It is also widely used in a number of pharmacological drugs.
